Amber was born in Calgary, but raised in Deseronto, Ontario. She comes from a BIG family. Amer moved back to Alberta in 2016 to further her education. She trained at MC College for Hair, and Alberta Academy of Aesthetics for Makeup. She has continued her education, expanding on her cutting and colouring skills with Redkin, Lanza, and Schwarzkopf Professional.
Amber is a published Makeup artist, specializing in everyday wear, bridal, special FX, and prosthetic makeup. Her favourite hair services to provide are vivid colours and blondes, but she also loves a sassy haircut!
Prior to hair and makeup Amber was a general contractor for 13 years, specializing in home renovations and painting. She brings creativity into all her work, regardless of the trade.
As a member of the lgbtqia2s+, Amber’s chair is always a safe space for everyone. Additionally, she is happy to accommodate other needs of her guests such as silent appointments, sensory accommodations, or a fun gab session! Amber is very excited to join the ZED Quarters family.
Kendra | Owner/ Senior Stylist
She/Her
Kendra was born into Newton and raised in Highlands; she is also an alumnus of Highlands and Eastglen. She is SO excited to take her career back to her home neighborhood. She has spent the last decade working in the Whyte Avenue area and will forever hold that area dear to her heart.
Kendra has trained with MC College, Senzi Interntional, M2 Education, Kevin.Murphy and, was an educator for Joico Canada from 2017 - 2021. She has mastered the precision of Sassoon hair cutting, and colour theory, while incorporating current trends and suitability. Kendra has also built a reputation providing many Edmonton folks with the modern perm! Kendra LOVES up-styling hair for events, photo shoots, or just for fun. She takes the time to get to know her clients and to fully understand their individual style/needs.
Prior to her career as a hairstylist, Kendra earned a diploma in Digital Media and IT from NAIT and worked as a graphic designer and video editor. Skills that she continues to hone on the back end of the ZED Quarters operation.
Kendra is safe-spaced trained from The Edmonton Pride Centre and understands how important it is to be inclusive personally and professionally. Kendra has a passion for providing gender-affirming haircare for the LGBTQ2S+ community. Kendra is also proud to accommodate folks that have sensory sensitivities and all other members of the neuro-spicey crowd. Whether you need a gab session with a pal, or a quiet time to relax- she’s happy to accommodate!
